The third instalment of the new trilogy seems to gather a lot of
criticism. I don't really see why. I think it's precisely what you would
expect having seen the previous five movies. Don’t get me wrong: All the
sequels after the original film run into the stupidity spiral. Which means
that with each new film, the setups get more ridiculous because everybody
seems to ignore what had happened before. I'd say starting with Jurassic
Park III logic was out the window already, Jurassic World even more so. I
mean, remember how bad the first park experiment ended? Who on earth would
finance another park with monsters? Plus breed even fiercer ones?
So, given that the plot this time manages to get the old cast and the new
cast together in one valley filled with all your favourite dinos… I feel
that is quite a feat. Yes, this is a wild mix of horror, action,
catastrophe porn and family drama. But if you don't like that, you
probably didn't watch the other movies too. This is not a masterpiece or a
surprising new spin on the franchise. But it's not a bad film, it's a
solid piece of entertainment. I would even say it's got way less
cringeworthy moments than the last two.
